Dear Colleagues

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am pleased to welcome you to Jeddah for the 1st King Fahd Armed Forces Hospital International Pediatric Surgery Symposium (KIPSS).
We wish to extend our welcome to the Arab Association of Pediatric Surgeons (AAPS) and the Saudi Scientfic Pediatric Surgery Association (SSPSA) for accepting our invitation to join us. We are honored to host their 9th and 1st meetings respectively.
Fifty percent of the population of Saudi Arabia is under 20 years of age and the number of registered Pediatric Surgeons is very low. Surgery on children is practiced by other surgical specialties. It is our aim to unite the efforts of all involved in the health care of this age group.
This symposium gathers well-known figures in the field of Pediatric Surgery from within the kingdom, from neighboring Arab countries and international speakers from Europe and North America .
Added to the high standard of the scientific program, the meeting will include two workshops on child abuse and dry-lab. There will be a full day of live-transmissions of minimally invasive procedures.
As professionals, we believe that warm friendship and the sharing of knowledge and ideas are the cornerstone for high standards of care in the field of Pediatric Surgery.
